BODY FOUND IN WELLINGTON HARBOUR.
BY TELEGRAPH —PRESS ASSOCIATION. WELLINGTON, July 23. was received by the pdrae authorities this morning that the bcciy of a rr.sn had been found floating in the harbour near the railway wharf. With the assistance of th ee men Constable Clay removed the body, which is in an advanced state of decomposition, from the water to the wharf, whence it was conveyed to the morgue. The dead man, who was wearing the uniform ot an officer in the New Zealand Shipping Company's service, is believed to be Mr Shapcott, - an engineer of the steamer Ruapehu, who has been missing for some weeks. An inquest wan comme. ced to-day, and adjourne:l till next Monday, when Rhapcotl'a trother officers will be in Wellington.
