Received July 23, 10.20 a.m. ADELAIDE, July 23,

Mr W O. Archibald refused renomination by the Labour party, on the ground that he was expected to suppjrt the Price Government, whatever its policy, until it was defeated, and then retiie with good grace to make room for Mr Price as leader of the party. Mr Archibald said he thought he could do more justice to himself and the country by eittirg below the gangway. Mr J. Verran was appointed his successor.
