THE DRAINAGE LOAN.
It was a wise step the Borough Council took last evening when it decided to invite the District Health Officer (Dr J. P. Frengley) to address the public meeting to be held on Monday evening in connection with the "drainage loan proposals. If the public have any doubt as to the necessity for pushing on with the drainage of the .undrained Borough area, they should attend the meeting and hear DrFrengley'a remarks, if he is present. The District Health Officer is an excellent speaker, and is very earnest in his desire to see the loan carried, as he told the Council a year ago. On that occasion he quite impressed the Council by the lucid manner in which he outlined the weaknesses' of the present scheme of drainage and the best method to proceed in remedying them. Residents in the undrained area could, no doubt, ably supplement any remarks made at the meeting regarding the discomfort of the present menacing, insanitary system of drainage they are afflicted with.
