The sum of £212 5s 8d has been spent on buildings and improvements, and £394 Is 8d on property account, principally in the purchase of a new totulisator, equipment. Thia was 1 rendered necessary by the law forbidding the use,of more than three maehiues. It/' is proposed during the coming year to effect an alteration to the course to improve the turn into the straight, and t(lso to consider the question of erecting a rail fence round the course proper. The matter of instituting a classic race on the club's programme will also have the attention of your stewards. Your stewards desire to express their sense of the great loss sustained by the turf through the death of Mr G. G. Stead, who for so many years took a leading part in racing matters. For stakes during the coming year you will be asked to allot a sum not exceeding £3,500. J. Freetb. A. Godfrey, W. Galbraitb, and J. Ay res have been granted trainers' licenses by the Wairarapa Racing Club.
