At the annual meeting of the North Canterbury Educational Institute, the annual report stated that the membership for the > ear was 252. The worU of the past year was reviewed, and a suggestion was made that the three mo3t impirt'an 1 : subject-* to be dealt with this year were: (1) A bstter system oi\ payment of tiacLei\3 in the direction of annual increments and the abolition of the aveiage attendance as the sole basis cf payment. (2) A more liberal superannuation scheme. (3) A more liberal staffing of the schools.
