HEAVY LOSS OF STOCK. BY TELEGRAPH —PRESS ASSOCIATION. CHRISTCHURCH, July 19. The Timaru correspondent of the "Press" states that the recent fall of snow is likely to be more serious than was at first anticipated. In the Mackenzie country runholderp are employing men at great expense to save as many sheep as possible. It is stated that hundreds were lost after the last snowstorm some few years back. The loss this time will run into thousands. GISBORNE, July 18. There has been a heavy fall of snow along the East Coast, the hills being covered as far rorth as Waipiro. At Wharerata the snow lies a foot deep, and the coach from Morere this morning ploughed through drifts up to the horses' knees.
