TEHERAN, Julvfl7. Sata Khan, leader of the Constitutionalists, is energetically defend* ing two quarters of Tabriz (the most important city of North-West Persia) against Rakhim Khan's soldiery, who hold the rest of the city. Sata Khan appeals to Great Britain, on the ground that she, having been instrumental in obtaining a Constitution for Persia, ought to assist in maintaining it.

CONCERTED ACTION AGAINST THE GOVERNMENT FORCES. RESIDENCES LOOTED. Received July 19, 4.15 p.m. TEHERAN, July 18. The elders in the chief quarters at Tabriz have agreed on concerted action against the Government forces. Priests harangued the crowds, and thousands of citizens proceeded to Rakhim Khan's headquarters and theartened a holy war unless hewithdrew. Rakhim Khan, without waiting to parley, withdrew his horsemen to the suburbs. ' A moo looted the residences of the Shah's wealtLisst supporters. Many of Rakhim Khan's horsemen, who became separated from the main body of troops in .town, were killed, and the majority of the infantry melted away into the crowd of civilians.
