Mr John Card, of Featherston, together with his daughter, Miss I<j. a Card, left yesterday on a six Weeks' trip to the South Sea Islands. At Wellington, on Wednesday. Mr George Henry Lawry, of 'Featherston, was inarriel t) Miss M. J. Adamson, eldest daughter of Mr James Adamson, of Invercargill. Mr James Dooban, of Taw alia (Lower Valley), was married tit FeathtT?tnn, on Wednesday last, to Mi-s Theresa flamution, second daughter of Mr ar.d Mrs D. HarnpBon, of Reefton.. Miss Mary Hampson was bridesmaid, and Mr D. Doohan was best man. At the Church of Christ, Pahiatua, yesterday morning, Mr Jackson, of Taihape, was matried to Miss Jessie Stratford, daughter of Mr J. Stratford. of Pahiatua. A large number of guests sat down to the wedding breakfast at the residence of the ! bride's parents. Mr and Mrs Jackson were the recipients of numerous handsome presents. Mr Frank Park?r, an o'-d resident of Masterton, who resided in Church Sci-eet, di-id at nine o'clock on Thursday evening, aged iiS. The deceased j had been in poor health, for a long time, altloigh his death was somewhat unexpected. He leaves a wife and two pons, one of the latter liv,ing at Foxton and the other at Wellington. The funeral will take p'.ice at 2 p.m. to-day., The deuth' cc.urrad at DalefltK, yesterday morning, of Mrs lunnicliffe, wife of Mr C. Tunnicliffe, after a lingering i'lness. The late Mrs Tunni' liffe. who was 48 years of ag;j. had resided in DalefielJ for the last twenty-five yezra. She leives a family cf eigh boys and four girls. Mefsrs F. iunnicliffe (Ot-iki), B. Tunnicliffe (Berbertville). and A. TiinniclifFe (Waipiru Bay. beyond Gisborne) are sons of the deceased. An old resident of Masterton, and a colonist of 35 years' standing, died yesterday morning in the person of Mrs Them sen, wife of Mr 11. Themsen, of Albert Street. The deceased lady came from Denmark to New Zealand, and resided in Masterton practically ever since hT a>rival. She was 69 years of age, and leaves three sons and two daughters, one of the latter Mrs A White, of Mast-rton. The faneral will take place at 2 p.m. on Mondaj.
