Received July 16, 10.45 p.m. LONDON, July 16. An influential deputation waited on the Prime Minister (Hon. H. H. Asquith) yesterday, and urged the Government to appoint a Committee to inquire into the cattle and meat supply, and also asked for the free importation of Canadian store cattle and the admission oi cattle slaughtered 'on arrWal from all countries which are officially declared free of disease. Mr Asquith, in a sympathetic reply, said that the question was of importance. He proposed to cmsult Earl Carrington (President of the Board of Agriculture) and Mr Winston Churchill (President of the Board of Trade), before coming to a decision on tho matter.
