WELLINGTON CONTESTS. BY TKIiEdRAPH —PEESS ASSOCIATION. WELLINGTON, July 13. Boxing contests were held by the Wellington Boxing Association tonight, in the Opera House, which was crowded. The amateur events resulted as follows: — Bantams: F. Kerr (Sst 2Jlb) defeated G. Selvay <7st 3 2Jib) after six two minute rounds. Welter: 0. Parry (lOst 481b) defeated 0. Donoghue Oust s Jib).
AUCKLAND CAKNIVAL
AUCKLAND, July 13. At the Northern Boxing Association's Carnival, to-night, Tracey defeated Rosa for the New Zealand light-weight championship of New Zealand in seven and a half rounds. Tracey had Ross' measure in the second round, but the latter showed game and took a lot of punishment. Menzies, a new b-ctam weight, defeated tin Auckland amateur bantam champion (Montague) in one and a half rounds.
