The Wellington Diocesan Synod to-day discussed a resolution expressing approval of the New South Wal»s educational system, by which teachers of various religious denorr, na'tions have permission to visit State schools within ordinary school hours for the purpose of giving instructions. It was suggeeted that a committee should be set up to formulate a scheme for New Zealand, to be referred to the next session of the general Synod, with a view to making representations to Parliament of the Education Act. Religious instructions should form.part of the ordinary curriculum,' and it must be given by people who believed in the facts that imparted. Several speakers said it was merely beating the air to bring on such a resolution, as the people would not agree to a change.
