MASTERTON POULTRY AND PIGEON ASSOCIATION.
ANNUAL SHOW. Saturday was really "the" Show Day—and night—for the Masterton Poultry, Pigeon and Canary Association, as it is then that the attendance is Usually largest, country people and the Saturday half-holiday public, who take an interest in poultry raising and canary and pigeon breeding, fincing the exhibition a convenient place to spend an hour cr two at. The attendance was about the same as last year's second day—that is, it was more or less satisfactory. The Hall could have accommodated four or five times the number of patrons. A guessing competition, at which competitors were set the task of computing the live weight of a bantam, a pigeon, a goose, and an Orpington lien, proved an interesting attraction, the winner, Mr Parcel 1, guessing the exact weight, 231bs 7ozs. A number of outside breeders were present, including several Carterton fanciers and one or two Palmorston North and Eketahuna exhibitors. The art union will be drawn durirg the present week, after all the books have been handed in. The committee worked hard during the progress of the Show to make it a success, and everything passed off without a hitch.
