THE "DAILY MAIL" CUP.

EAST LONDON'S REMARKABLE SCORE.

Reporting the remarkable score put up by the East London Club (Cape Cjbny), in the "Daily Mail" competition, a correspondent of the "Cape Times" states: —Starting with a moderate rear wind at 200 yds, which su ldenly changed round to a three o'clock fresh wind at 500 and 600 yards. The light and weather was all that be desired at the 200 and 500 yards. At 600 yards the light w.u variable. The shooting for the day was exceptionally good all round, the first eight scores averaging 103, which is the world's record, and the n±xt averaging 99.2. The average' for both eights is 101.1. There were no less than four possibles at 200 yards, at 500 yards six, an~l 6CO yards one. II) the average of the firot eight there were 16 possibles put on at the different ranges. The following are the detailed sccras of the 16 men. It will be noticed that scores of 101 are counted out of the winning team', whilst the lowest is 96. Rifle shooting has no parellel to this remarkable rnarkmanship:—
