MASTERTON SCHOOL COMMITTEE.
MONTHLY MEETING
The monthly meeting of the Mas-
terton School Committee was he Id last night. There were present:— Messrs R. Brown (ehiirman), J. Carpenter, A. VV Chapman, G Townsend, E. H. Waddii.gtoti, J. C. Perry, and H. H. Cork. The Treasurer leported a credit balance of £29 17s lUd The Committee decided to apply to the Trust Lands Trust for its annual grant. A letter from the Wellington Edu cation Board was read 'staling that the plans for the additional classroom at the main building of the High School were being put in hand at once. The Secretary of the Board also wrote thanking the Committee for its assistance in connection with the deep-breathing classes. A circular was received from Mr A. H. Vile, soliciting the Com mittee's support for his re-candida-ture for a position on the Education Board. The Secretary of the Education Board notified that the Clerk of Works would inspect the school v/ith regard to the Committee's application j for new cisterns at the latrines. Mr W. A. Fendall's resignation as a member of the Committee was accepted with regret, and it was decided to place on the minutes the Committee's appreciation of the valued services rendered by him during his term of office. Mr H. J. O'Leary was unanimously appointed to the vacancy caused by Mr Fendall's retirement, on the mo tion of the Chairman, seconded by Mr Cork The following were appointed visiting members for the month:— Messrs Cork, O'Leary and Chapman. Accounts amounting to £l9 15s 7d were passed for payment
