MEYNELL AND GUNN COMPANY.
Referring to the production of the historic romantic play, "A Beggar on Horseback," which is to be staged by the Rupert Clarke-John WrenMeynell and Gunn's Company at the Town Hall on Monday night, an exchange says:—"The chief honours of Saturday evening fell to Mr Harcourt Beatty as the "Beggar on Horseback." M>* Beatty acted with dash and gallantry, and he has plenty to do,for the piece is one of those which gives the leading man an opportunity of standing out alone. As Lady Mary Dudley, Miss Madge Mcintosh acted with sympathy and feeling, being particularly good in the more emotional passages. The other members of the company are so good in their nespective rolls that comparison would be invidious. The play is magnificently dressed and staged, and the initial reception promises a record run."
