KNOX CHURCH.
BUILDING EXTENSION AND PIPE ORGAN FUND. /
The sale of work promoted by the ladies of Knox Church, in aid of the Church Extension and Pipe Organ Fund, will be opened by the Mayor at 2 p.m., to-day and promises to be a complete success. The various sub-committees set up to deal with the stalls, side shows, and popular concerts, have been working energetically, with the result that a large collection of useful articles for sale and entertainment for patrons have been secured. Given fine weather, the fund for which the stile of work is being inaugurated should be considerably augmented. In an advertisement appearing elsewhere details the nature of the various articles and competitions to be provided. The sale will open till 5 o'clock, and will re-open again in the evening, at 7 o'clock. The contributions in hand and promised in aid of the Church Extension and Organ Fund already exceed £I,OOO. The organ has been cabled for, and the managers are now in communication with an architect with a view to preparing plans for the church extension.
