Messrs Dalgety and Co., Ltd., Wellington, have received the following cible messages from their London House, under date of the 2nd instant: —Butter.—Market firm. The Copenhagen official quotation is unchanged. The total imports of butter into the United Kingdom for the week ending 27th ultimo amounted to 85,000 cwt, as compared with 87,000 cv/t. for the corresponding week of 1907showing a/decrease of 2,000 cwt. I Finest, 110s; unsalted, 112s; finest' New Zealand, 114s per cwt. Frozen Meat. —There is an active demand for lamb, ! and the Wrket is very firm. The demand for mutton continues, and prices are firm. Beef—There is less demand, and prices are weaker. Our quotations for New Zealand, descriptions are:—Prime crossbred, Canterbury, heavy, s|d; light, s|d per lb; prime crossbred lamb, North Island, heavy, 5Jd;, light, s|d per lb; prime crossbred mutton. Canterbury, heavy light, 4jd; per lb; prime crossbred mutton, North Island, heavy, 3£d; light, 3§d per lb; prime ox beef, forequartsrs, 3|d; hindquarters, 4£d per lb. Tallow.— Since our last advices prices for medium to good description? are unchanged. Prices fjr inferior are 6d per cwt. higher.
