BY TELEGRAPH—PRESS ASSOCIATION. . WELLINGTON July 5. At the Supreme Court, yesterday, in the case of Searl v. Lyonp, a claim of £I,OOO damaees for alleged slander, the jury brought in a verdict which Mr Justice Couper said, amounted to a verdict for defendant. Costs were given against Searl on the higher scale. His Honour certified fcr two extra days at £lO 10s per day, and' for second counsel.
