BUTTER MARKET EXCITED.

The Taranaki butter market is in a sate of excitement at the present moment. Sellers aue getting Is Id per lb for lots oE 250 to 500 boxes f.o.b. at New Plymouth. On Friday la |d was obtained at New Plymouth, and on Monday the price went up a farthing. In Christchurch the retail price was, yesterday, Is 4d. There is no change in Wellington prices, which remain at Is 3d per lb for firstclass factory brands. The Wellington price went up a penny on Thursday last, when it evened with Dunedin and Christchurch prices at that date.
