iJIGH COMMISSIONER'S REPORT. BY TELEGBAPH —PRESS ASSOCIATION. WELLINGTON, June 20. The High Commissioner cables irom London, under date June 20th, 4i3 follows: — The mutton market is quiet, and trade is very disappointing; there is ■only very hand to mouth demand. Canterbury brands are 4|d, North Island, 3id. The lamb market is very ■firm, and there is a general active demand. Canterbury lamb is 5Jd, other than Canterbury, ;sid. The beef market is firm. Supplies «of American chilled beef are small, and there are light stocks of New Zealand brands. Hindquarters are '4d, forequarters, 3d. The butter (market is very firm. 'There is brisk demand for Danish at 116s, choicest New Zealand 113s, Australian 106s per cwt. The cheese market Is quiet and tfrro. White makes 645, and coloured •ssfrper cwt. There is a better demand for hemp. "Good fair grade on spot is quoted at £2B, fair grade in all positions at ,£25 10s. The'cocksfcot seed market is quiet.
