THE COMING ELECTIONS.

WELLINGTON, June 20 ; Various reports are in circulation a! to the Attorney-General intending to stand for a seat in the House, one suggestion being that he will stand for Wairau upon the retirement of the Hon. C. H, Mills. Dr. Findlay himself savs it'has been suggested he should stand for three different nlficos, but he has no intention of doing so, as he finds his sphere of usefulness as leader of the Council just as large as if he were a member of the other House. WESTPORT, Jun-r 20. Three candidates are announced for the Boiler seat Messrs Colvin, Munro ad Maenamara.

Mr H. Atmore will again the Nelson seat against Mr John Graham, the sitting member, who heat him last election by twentynine votes. A petition already numerously signed, is being circulated in Wellington with the object of inducing the Hon. T. W. Hislop (Mayor) to contest the Wellington Central seat next election against Mr F. M. B. Fisher. It has been suggested in some quarters that the Hon. C. H. Mills, who has announced his contemplated retirement from politics after this session, may he a possible candidate fir Wellington Central, in which he resides. This turns out to be merely rumour, for the member for Wairau id fully determined to take a rest afler his thirty-four years of strenuous political life.
