Mrs Tunnecliffe, of Dalefield, is seriously ill. Mrs and Miss Booth, of Carterton, contemplate taking a trip to the Fiji Islands shortly. Mr H. S. Moss, Secretai'y of the Wararapa and East Coast P. and A. Society, contemplates taking a trip to the Old Country shortly. Mr E. Wrlgley, who waa a member of the New Zealand professional team which recently toured England and Australia, returned to Masterton yesterday. Mr Arthur Paterson, licensee of the Junclion Hotel, Marton, died suddenly on Wednesday. The deceased, who was 38 years of age, was born in Dnnedin, where his parents reside. He was a brother of Mr R< W. Paterson, of Wellington, On Monday evening, Mr W. Bassett late of the Greytown Hospital, was presented by the staff with a travelling case and a set of razors, as a mark of respect and appreciation. The presentation was made ny Dr Bey. Mr bassett left on Wednesday morning to take up his new duties at the Otaki Hospital.
