The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd., report as follows: —At Pahiataa. on Tuesday, the yarding in both sheep and cattle was light. Business was slow all round, and rates showed no improvement, although we made a clearance of all lots. At Masterton, on Wednesday, the yarding wa-i very small, although the class of stock offered was mostly good, which enabled us to do good business, either under the hammer or by private treaty; the ratas obtained, although sound, showed no increase in previous markets. A few lots of cattle sold fairly well according to class and condition. At Pahiatua. on Tuesday, ewes in lamb made 10s 6d for young, to 7a 6d and 6s for jued sorts; forward empty ewes 9s to 10s; strong lambs, 6s 6d to 7s; others, 5s 9d, ss. At Masterton, >.m Wednesday, good sound ewes in lamb, to 10s 6d; aged sorts, 6s to 8s; culls, 4s; fat wethers, 15s; fat ewes, best, 14s; others, 12s; forward empty ewes, 10s to lis; forward wethers, 4-tooth, 1.55, 2-tooth 9s to lis; lambs, medium, 6s 6d; small, 4s to sa. Dairy cows, near to profit, 70s to 100s; cows in calf, 4fls to 60s* yearling steers, 255. Messrs Dalgety and Co..
