WOMEN'S FRANCHISE.
SATURDAY'S DEMONSTRATION IN LONDON. PRESS COMMENT. Received June 15, 9.74 p.m. LONDON, June 15. The. "Times" says that the women's suffrage procession from Thames Embankment to Albeit Park wa° a spectacle of beauty unparalleled among political processions. The speeches were distinguished by dignity and reserve showing that a certain number of earnest hard-working women—some of considerable distinction—are genuinely anxious for suffrage. The crowds of spectators, however, though respectful and good humoured, evinced little real support of trie movement and still less enthusiasm. The "Daily New«," in an articles hopes that the procession will convince Mr Asquith that there is an effective demand among women for the franchise. Liberals ought to erant the reform without which democracy was incomplete.
