We remember having onco read in an over-sea contemporary that every Nov/ Zoalamler wua born with a Rugby football under his arm, says th s Wanganui "Herald," this by way of accounting for the intense enthusiasm of the average young Dominionits for the good old winter pastime. An instance of this enthusiasm may bo found in the fact that many of the youngsters engaged in the primary schools football contests travel iievoral miles into Wanganui every ►Saturday morning to do battle for their schools. The palm, however, in list be awarded to a boy living at Kai Iwi Hcach, who for several Saturdaya actually walked the whole eleven miles into town to play in the in-itches. Hid enthusiasm has now btu'ii rewarded by the loan of a horse whenever his schojl is down for a fixture. That boy will be a New Zealand rep. yet.
