PRICE OF WOOL.
A MISLEADING STATEMENT. NAPIER, June 11. At a meeting of the N:-:pier Chamber of Commerce to-day. it was stated that the export of wool from Napier last season had exceeded that of the previous season by about 700 bales. It was stated that the Customs returns of exports for March quarter were misleading in respect, of the value of wool, in that the wool was valued at lOd per lb., whereas the actual average price real is: d on sale was about 6£d. It was decided to assist the Wellington Chamber in asking that 'he Customs Department should submit shippers' values to the various chambers of commerce before publishing the figures.
