A CONVICTION QUASHED.
Received June 9, 10 a.m. NEW YORK, June 8. '"he conviction of Doctor Gillette, who was sentenced to imprisonment for perjury in October last, has been reversed on appeal, on the ground that the indictment was illegal.
Dr. W. R. Gillette, who was formerly Vice-president of the Mutual Life Insurance Company of New York, was sentenced to six months' imprisonment on a charge of perjury statement made by him in reference to the Company's banking balance.
