COMMERCIAL CODE WORDS. Received June 7, 4.15 p.m. LISBON, June 6. In deference to protests from the whole of the British Empire, the Postal Conference at Lishon decided to maintain the existing rules regulating the selection of words in compilation of commercial code?, but the conditions with respect to pronouncable worrls should, it wad contended, be more clearly defined. Arrangements were made optionallyto present codes to a hoard of control consisting of representatives of Britain. France , and Germany, with a view to asccr-' taining whether they fulfil the conditions imposed by the second paragraph of clause eight. It was emphasized by some of the British delegates that codes not presented for approval equally with those not approved should remain in fore*, but that each administration should be entitled to accept or reject any words.
