The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd.. report as f illows:—At Pahiatua on Tuesday all classes of sheep wrfre well represented. all selling at prices about on a par with previous sales. At Masterton on Wednesday the yards were ag tin well filled. The demand was fiiisfly for good wetbars, forward cwas and strong lambs. For ewes in lamb rates showed no advance. In fats only medium quality offered. Bidding throughout was fairly dull, although we succeeded before the close of the day in making a clearance with one exception. In cattle very few were penned. The beet" offered was light cow,?. Stores showed n:> improvement. At Pahiatua — Forward ewes ranged from 8s 6d to 9s lOd, ewes in lam's Ss to 9s 9d, aged #=WJ3 and culls 2a to fid, lamb 3 (medium) 4s to 6s, cull? 2a to 3s. At Master:on—Fat ewss 13s, 12s, lis 6d, forward ewe 4 e 9a to 10s, stores (empty) 6s, lfght wethers lis, medium fat lambs 10a to 10s 6d, forward Jrtmhg 8a to 9s 6d, goad stores 6s to • 7s Gd, light 4s to 5s 6d, culls 2s 6d to 3s, ewes in lamb, best 10s 6d, others 9s, Bs, aged 5s to 6j, light fat cows £'i 103 to £4 10a.
Messrs Dalgety and Company, L'd., report aa follows: —We held our usual fortnightly s-ale a', the Waipoua Yards yesterday, on account of Wednesday being a holiday. There was a gjod yarding of sheep, principally owes in lamb, which met with rather dull sale. There was only a moderate attendance and bidding was not too good. We quote as follows: Good fonvurd woolly lambs, 9s 9J; forward black-faced lambs, 10s; f.m. ewes, 4s 7d to 5s 9d; 2-tooth to f.m. ewes, 10s Id; Romney lambs, 5s Sd to 63; forward owes, 9a 8d; a.m. ewas in lamb, 8s 1,1 dtT 9s Sd: three-year steers, £4 10s to £4 12s 6d,
