BRITISH RAILWAY COMPANIES.
PROPOSED WORKING SCHEME. Received June 3, 9.10 a.m. LONDON, June 2. According to tho "Daily Express," the Midland Railway Company may join the three others in a proposed working arrangement to 3top ruinous competition. The combination would represent three hundred and fiftythree million sterling. The Great Central, Great Northern, and Grea 1 ; Eastern Railway Companies propose, it is said, to introduce a joint working bill. Tho Board of Trade will, it is understood, raise no objection to the scheme.
