LONDON MARKETS.
Messrs Dalgety and Co., Ltd., W°llington, have received the following cable messages from their London house, under date of the 28th May:— Butter.—Market quiet, and prices steady. The Copenhagen official quotation is unchanged. The total imports of butter into the United Kingdom for week ending 23rd May amrunted to 68.000 cwt. as compared with 92,000 cwt. for the corresponding week of 1907; showing a decrease of 24,000 cwt. Finesc, 104s per cwt. Frozen Meat.—Lamb—Market firm without change in prices. The market for beef and mutron is weak and prices are easier. Tallow.—Since our last advices prices for all sorts of tallow are unchanged, with the exception of mixed good to prime, which is a shade easier. Rabbit Skins. Competition is strong. Out of an offering of 1.937 'bales, 1,713 bales were sold. Since our last telegram prices are higher as follows:—Fair to good qualities, lid to 2d per lb; inferior, id to Id per lb. Leather.—Prices are id per lb. lower. Basils.—At par to Jd per lb lower. H ..•us are 5 per cent to 10 per cent. Ijwer. Bones and Hoofs.—Any change in priujs is in favour of buyers.
