CITY AND GUILDS EXAMINATIONS.
—_ —_— The technological examinations ir connection with the City and Guilds Institute of London were commenced in the local Technical Sc!:o)l last evening, when three candidates presented themselves for the Plumbers' Work preliminary examinatim (written). This evening, the subject of examination will be the Ordinary and Honours Grade for Plumbers' Work, also written, and for which five candidates have entered. The practical examination in Plumbers' Work, for which four candidates hav« entered, will be held in the Technical workshop, Dixon Street, between the hours of 2 and 7 p.m. on Saturday next, when Mr R. E. Jones will act as local examiner. On Thursday, Telephony (Ordinary and Honours Grade) will ba taken by one candidate from 7 to 10 p.m., and on Saturday, 6th inst., seven candidates have signified their intention of siting for the examination in Plain Cookery, written and practical. This examination will be held in the Masterton District High School, the written work being taken between the hours of 9 and 12 a.m., and the practical work, for which Mrs W, H. Jackson has kindly consented to act as local examiner, between 1 and 4 p.m. The arrangements for all the examinations will be superintended by the Secretary of the .local Technical School (Mr N. D. Eunting).
