THE ANGLO-WELSH TEAM. BY TELEGRAPH —PRESS ASSOCIATION. CIIRISTCHURCH, May 23. The members of the Anglo-Welsh football team arrived this morning by the Maori, and were met by the president of the Rugby Union (Mr A. E. G. Rhodes), the vice-ptesident (Mr G. H. Mason), and the secretary (Mr W. G. Garrard). The team came on to Christchurch, and left by the express for Dunedin. Mr G. Thompson, a member of the Dunedin Management Committee, took charge of the team, and will return with it on June 10th. WELLINGTON, May 28. At a meeting of the Management Committee of the New Zealand Union, to-night, the appointment of Dr. Crawford, of Invercargill, as referee in the British-Otago match wag agreed to. A suggestion from the Otago Unon that a practice match between the New Zealand team and Otago be played on June 3rd was not acceded to, the committee considering that the element of risk to the players was toy great.

ROVER I. v. LIBERAL I.

A match was played at Carterton yesterday between the Rover and Liberal senior teams, and resulted in a win for the Rovers by 17 points to 3. Tries were secured for the Rovers by C. Fairbrother, F. Fairbrother, Pulsford, and Geo. Hall. Tidswill scored for the Liberals. The following will represent Greytown Seniors in their match against Masterton, at Greytown, to-morrow: —R. Andrews, N. Skeet, Russell, R. Hamilton, T. Jury, Stevens, Workman, Skeet, Wickens, Hastings, Jury, Wines, P. O'Callaghan, Skeet and A. Morris. The following will represent Te Ore Ore Juniors against Dalefield Juniors, on Saturday, at Dalefield. The drag will leave the Post Office at 1 p.m., sharp:—Full-back, Fitzgerald; three-quarters, Raharuhi, Stafford and Painter; five-eighths, August and Rangi; ha'f, Maaka; wing, Jairo; forwards, Paraone, Toka, Ilemo, Pohau, Heta, Kara, Phillip; emergencies, Reiri, Bentley, McGillicuddy.
