SALUTING THE FLAG. Received May 24, 4.10 p.m. LONDON, May 23. Empire Day celebrations in Britain 'will be spread over three days. Ono million children attending the a schools in London saluted tlv' flag yesterday, and lectures, etc., >-elat- ' ing to the movement were givon in 1,000 schools. The Municipal Councils at Batter•sea and Poplar refused to fly the : Union Jack. The display of bunting in the ' West End of London waa greater than ■ ever., In the East End of London one chased small flags with which to *make a display.
