PERSONAL.
On Wedesday last, atNireaha, Miss? B. Christensen, daughter of Mr L. C. Christensen, of Putara, was married to Mr J. Wapp, of Halcombe. , At Al'fredton, on Thursday, Mr W. V. Graham, of Manawa, Te Nui; was 1 married' to Miss A. E. Smith, of Alfredtorr. Miss Winnie Saker, of Masterton, was bridesmaid, and Mr M Mach in was best man. A farewell social was tendered to> Mr and Mrs G. Waterson, who intend residing at Carterton, and' Mrand'Mrs E. Robinson, who are going* to live at Hastings, by the residents of Nireaba, on Thursday last. During the evening Mesdames Watersonr and Robinson were presented with tea services, and Messrs Robinson and: Waterson with a silver-mounted meerschauni pipe each. 'Mr R. A. Gibbs, a member of the? English football team, who was hurt while playing in the football match on Saturday, has since been suffering with slight concussion of the brain, and was confined to his bed on Saturday night and all yesterday. It is expected that he will be able to get about to-day. He was attended by Dr. McEvedy, of Guy's Hospital, who is also a member of the team. Mr A. F. Harding, the captain of the English team, also met with a nasty accident in the match, having his left leg injured. He was wpen to Wellington yesterday by MrT. M. Wilford in the latter's motor car, '' , and intends to undergo electric treatment for the injuries received.
