CORRESPONDENCE.
(To the Editor). Sir, —Up till this morning I was one of those unfortunate persons who, like His Worship the Mayor, had no knowledge that such an institution as a Holiday Committee existed. Thanks, however, to Mr Easthope, the existence of a committee at this, time is now abundantly clear. It would appear, howevar, that the committee has outlived its time of usefulness by long,, long years. Away back in the dim vista of past ages, when the committee and Noah, and some other estimable old gentle-nan, could have played dominoes, this Holiday Committee would possibly have been considered most useful. At the, present time it is.out of step, out of date, weary and tired generally, and has possibly forgotten (or may be never knew) that all England welcomed our football team m every town and in every village. I would respectfully suggest that the Masterton Holiday Committee should fold up its little banner, hand over its affairs to the Mayor of Masterton, and write above the lintle oi' the door, "No longer needed, out of touch with the people;' Closed.''—l am, etc., "PADDY MURPHY.''
