TWENTY-EIGHT YEARS' IMPRISONMENT.
AUCKLAND, May 20. At the Supreme Court, Alexander Campbell, 63 years of age, pleaded guilty to indecent assault on four little girls. Mr Justice Edwards, said prisoner, in addition to other' offences, had served sentences of four years and seven years' for indecent assaults. His Honor's intention was that accused should never again be at large to poison the community with his filthy practices. He would not order the lash, on account of prisoner's age, but sentenced him to hard labour for seven years on each charge, the sentence to be cumulative. Tnis is practically a life sentence.
