THE SCARLET PIMPERNEL.
This morning at Miss Rive's, the box plan for the only appearance of "The Scarlet Pimpernel," by Mr J. C. Williamson's Dramatic Company will be opened. The company appear on Friday evening. "The Scarlet, Pimpernel" relies for its success, on three strong elements—romance, chivalry, and love. The drama is evolved from the poetic and romantic story of the deeds of the League of the Scarlet Pimpernel in England at the time of the coup d'etat in France, when the populace thirsted for the blood of the aristocrats. Mr Julius Knight as Sir Percy Blakeney is said to be excellently placed. Miss Ola Humphrey as Marguerite Blackeney has an important and difficult character assigned her. The Sydney press speaking of her rendering of the nart are most liberal in their appreciation.
