"MONEY MAD."
AN ABSCONDING CASHIER'S PLEA.
Received May 18, 10.0 p.m. NEW YORK, May 18. A man named Montgomery, a cashier in the Alleghany National Bank at Pittsburg, charged with absconding with £27,000 belonging to the bank, pleaded that ho was money mad.
BEITAIN AND PRANCEA COMMERCIAL TREATY. Received May 18 9.5 a.m.. LONDON May 17. Router's Paris correspondent reports that the French Government and Sir Edwanl Grey have commenced a preliminary discussion with regard to arranging an Anglo-French commercial treaty.
