PERSONAL.
Mr and Mrs J. M. Coraiine left Masterton yesterday on a holiday tour of the North Island. They will be away about a month. Mr T. G. Hoar, monumental sculptor, of Masterton, is at present in Picton supervising the erection of a large headstone in the cemetery there. Miss Gertie Apperley, a well-known Masterton young lady, who is shortly leaving for Wanganui, is to be given a farewell "social" in the Foresters* Hall on Thursday evening next. Constable' George Dcggett, who has been ' attached to the Masterton Police Force for several months past, and who has been a very populf r officer, has received notice of h:a transfer to Lambton Quay Statior, Wellington, for which place he leaves next week. Constable Thos. Johnston, of Lambton Quav, succeeds Constable Doggett at Masterton, and has already taken up duty at Masterton.
