MASONIC.
The ceremony of the Dedication and Consecration of the new Lodge room for the Masterton Masonic Lodge took place yesterday afternoon, together with the installation of the Worshipful Master and in vesture of officers for the ensuing year. The various ceremonies were impressively performed by R. W. Bro. R. Fletcher, Grand Superintendent, assisted by R. W. Bro. J. Moncrieff, S.W., V.G. Bro T. Porritt, P.G. Chaplin Bro. Inder, P. G. Stewart and W- Bro. J. G. Elliott, acting director of ceremonies, in the presence of nearly 100 brethren, representing Lodges from various parts of the dominion, the sister Lodges of the Wairarapa being largely represented. It is now some considerable time since the Masons of Masterton determined to erect a new Lodge room, and to-day they have achieved their purpose and are now the possessors of one of the largest and best appointed Masonic temples in the dominion. The building is of the lonic order, and the Lodge room proper being 27 x 89, 17ft high, with steel covered ceilings. There is a recess for the choir 10 x 70. This mom is handsomely finished in craft colours, and the furnishings, which have mostly been donated by members of the Lodge, are in keeping with the general appointments. The refectory is 40ft x 24ft Gin, and occupies the larger portion of the old Lodge room, with a part of the new building, and in addition there is a kitchen 14ft x Bft. The lobby is 29ft 6in x 10ft, and a tilers' room 10ft x 10ft. The following officers were installed:—W.M. Bro. A. E. Winzenberg; I.ZP.M., Bro. F. J. Hunn; S.W., Bro. R. J. Foss; J.W., Bro. J. B. Henry; Secretary, Bro. R. J. Young; Treasurer, Bro. T. Wagg; D.C. Bro. J. Eliott; F.M. Chaplain Bro. Geo. Hyde; P.M., S.D. Bro. J. Tait, J.D, Bro. J. Cochrane; I.G. Bro. C. S. King; S.S. Bro. C. McDougall; J.S., Bro. J. Elder; Tyler, Bi*o. W. J.. Robins. At the conclusion of the Installation the brethren adjourned to the refectory, where an excellent repast, provided by Mr Rebay, of the Dominion Cafe, was partaken of, after which the loyal and Masonic, toasts were duly given and responded to. The musical programme was contributed by Bros. F. J. Hunn, J. B. Henry, Fendall, Mansell and Russell.
