PAHIATUA NEWS.

- " At a meeting of the Pahiatua Dia"trict High School on Monday evening, letters were read from Mr Moiijfson and Mr Dick, members of the Ngaturi School Committee, with reference to the formation of a Hush Districts School Committee's Association. One of the objec J s of the move* ment was to appoint a member to the Education Board directly in touch witli the various school committees, .Mr Vile, the present representative who formerly resided in Eketahuna was now living in Vellington. Mr Vile had done excellent work in 'the interests of the Bush Districts; Out the writers considered that he was too far away to keep in touch with the requirements of the various schools. It was suggested that delegates from the various school districts meet in Pahiatua and form an association and that the school committees combine and send a representative to represent them on the Education Board.—The suggestions were approved of and it was decided: That the secretary be instructed to write to the various school committees in the Bush Districts, asking theni whether they are in favour of appointing delegates to a conference to be held in Pahiatua with a view to forming a Bush Districts School Committees' Association. Such a proposal if carried into effect would ijfi the means of enlivening interest Wf-school affairs among the various committees and be of assistance in > conserving the interests of the , schools.
