In connection with the La Porte horror, a doctor declared that one victim was grasping a bunch of man's hair, suggesting that Mrs Guinness had a male accomplice. Witnesses state that they saw Lamphere, the farm hand who was lately arrested and charged with the murders, running from the burning farmhouse.
