THE AMERICAN FLEET.
DATE OF SYDNEY VISIT,
Received May 12, 9.41 a.m. MELBOURNE, May 12. The Federal Premier (Hon. A. Deakin) has been officially advised that Sydney will be the first port of call of the American fleet in the Commonwealth. The fleet will arrive on 20th August, and leave on th* 27th, afterwards spending a week in Melbourne. Received May 13, 12.35 a.m. SYDNEY, May 12. Cable advices received state that coal for the American Squadron is being shipped from America to Sydney.
