WAIRARAPA POULTRY PIGEON AND CANARY ASSOCIATION.

The annual meeting of the Wairarapa Poultry, Pigeon and Canary Association was held in the Dominion Ilall last evening, Mr A. Hendry in the chair. The treasurer submitted a balancesheet, which showed that the year s operations had resulted in a profit of £2l 4s lid. There was a debit balance at the beginning of the year of £27, and the present dr balance was £24 18s 4d. The assets were set down at £26, and liabilities at £24 18s Bd. Outstanding subscriptions totalled £32. The balance sheet was adopted. Some discussion ensued as to wnat course should be adopted regarding outstanding subscriptions. It was unanimously decided to instruct a solicitor to take proceedings for the recovery of subscriptions. The meeting discussed the advisability of holding another Show. The Chairman said he had, prior to the present meeting, thought the lack of enthusiasm displayed justified the Socitey in not holding another Show, but the number present caused him to take a dilTeren view. Mr G. Hyde endorsed this view. The Chairman said that offers to combine with Carterton and Eketahuna, to huld a Show alternately at ! each place, had been rejected by both the other Associations. He ) thought it was a pity, as none of the Shows were anything great as they stood, while a Show would be very much better for the "fancy." He thought it was only a matter of time when this movement would have to take place. Other members endorsed these sentiments. The following officers were elected: -Patron, Mr W. G. Beard; President, Mr W. H. Beetham; Vice-Pre-sident-, Messrs J. D. Cruickshank, J. Payton, Dr W. H. Hosking, A. C. Major and J. Caselberg; General Committee, Messrs A. J. Parton, 1. 11. Rutherford, T. W. Barnes, A. Hendry, G. Hyde, R. Spackman, G. C. Marshman, T. Moor, A. nodgrass, R. E. Graham, JH. Madeley, H. Pickett. T. G. Hoar, T. J. P. Cobb.. The appointment of a secretary was held over, Mr Cairn declining re-election. It was decided to procure the pens from Wellington for the Show, as was done last year. The meeting resolved to hold the Show in the Drill Hall, where last Show was held, on the 10th and 11th .July, the dates set down by the New Zealand Association. This concluded the business.
