The loas on Waipori, Dunedin's electrical power undertaking, for the ten months ended March 31st last, ,was £4,380. Rabbits are now coming to hand freely at the Port Chalmer3 freezing works, the average being 7,000 to B,oou daily. A curious coincidence was noticed at the last ballot for workmen's homes in Wellington. The last home, No. 8, fell to applicant No. 8 at the moment the clock struck 8. Mr P. M. Koonin, secretary of the unemployed, East Brunswick, Melbourne, writes as follows to the Auckland "Star" : —"You will greatly ol.lige by inserting in your newspaper a warning to men thinking of leaving New Zealand for Victoria looking for work. A 5! far nsjjwe can judge at present, by the information in oilr possession, which we can rely upon, there are at least (5,000 unemployed in Melbourne alone, and this long before winter in what our Premier calls Hod's own country."
