THE ELLIOT BANKRUPTCY CASE.
AN INFORMATION SWORN
The present whereabouts (if A. C. Elliot, the.\Velliirtgon land and estate agent—who left,the city prior to the first ineetj'ng of his creditors on Monday las v .,'-Haye not yet been ' ascertained. '•, the request of the Npw Zealand Police Department, the Sydney authorities are making enquires as to .whether the bankrupt is really in New South Wales. Ah information against Elliott has been "sworn by Mr Arthur J. Wicks, but no action will be taken by ,' the police unless the expenses are guaranteed. So far this has not been done. Mr Wicks alleges that he instructed Elliott to collect a certain sum and pay £l2 of the amount to a Wellington resident whom he named. He has now satisfied himself, he. sayß; that Elliott collected the money, but nevervpaid it to the person who should The Police Department has not completed,its investigations, and until it has done so no recommendation pf any kind will be made to the Minister .for Justice. The adjourned meeting of creditors will be held to-day. ' ELLIOTT SURRENDERS TO THE POLICE.
BY TEI.-EGEAPH—PBESS ASSOCIATION. WELLINGTON, Majr 10. The police are advised that A. c. Elliott, the missing Wellington bank • rupt, surrendered to the police at Auckland to-day. Elliott had just returned from Sydney and intended to come on to Wellington, but he ran short of funds. He will be formally charged with theft at Auckland to-morrow morning and remanded to Wellington.
