ACCIDENTAL DEATH.
WELLINGTON, May 8. The-adjjourned inquest into the ciraumstances of the ueattt of Mr Joseph Petrie, Mayor of Greymouth, was. concluded to-night. The evidence failed to>prove what car the deceased was-a passenger in when he met with the accident which resulted fatally. A woman passenger said that the deceased-had pulled the bell, indicating, that he wished to alight. The car slowed down, but not to stop. They then went faster, and Mr Petrie jumped out when the car was going five-on siXv miles an hour. The de-ceased, fell*, and the motorman then stopped the car,, and ran to where Mr Petrielay,.and took the names of some of thp passengers. The City Solicitor said that he had interrogated*all the tramway employees on that section at aoout the time of the accident, and none admitted knowledge of the affair. No accident, had- been reoorted. The jury decided that the deceased met nis death accidentally by slipping from a moving car on the night of April Gtht v
