MAJOR CUP.

The Major Cup competition of the Wairarapa Hockey Association will commence to-day. The following are the fixtures:— W.F.C.A. versus Y.M.C.A., on No. 1 ground, at Lansdowne; referee, Mr O'Meara. W.F.C.A. B ver3ua Carterton, on No. 2 ground, at Lansdowne; referee, Mr Mcintosh. Knox versus Carterton B, at Carterton, referee, Mr Humphrey. Piay will commence in each match at 3 o'clock. The following team has been finally selected to represent the W.F.C.A. B team against Carterton A, at Linsdowne, this afternoon:- Goal, Potter i full-backs, Ralph, McGinnity; halves, Russell, McFarlane and J. Long; forwards, Home (wing), Parker, Dickson, Maxwell and Dunn (wing).

The Paka Koura Ladies' Hockey Club (Featherston) have decided not to affiliate with the Wairarapa Lidisb' Hockey Association. Miss Lizzie Skipage, the captain, tendered her resignation at a meeting on Monday night, but after some persuasion was induced to withdraw it. The club will, during the season, endeavour to arrange matches with the Eketahunaand Wellington Clubs. A meeting of numbers of the W.F.C.A. B team was held last evening, when the following officers were elected for the season:—Captain, Mr J. R. Dunn; vice-captain, Mr J. Russell; selection committee, captain, vice-captain and Mr T. McGinnity.
