HOCKEY.
HUGHES SHIELD,
The competition for the Hughes (ladies) Shield will commence on Thursday next (May 14th). Seven teams have entered for the Shield, and the drawings for Thursday next are as follow : Carterton v. Huia, at Masterton. Glengarry v. Featherston, at Masterton. Masterton High School v. Garry Owen, at Masterton. Greytown a bye. The Carterton High School have found that they are unable to enter a team for the competition.
